A Dog named Faith

This dog was born in 2002. He was born with 2 legs.    He of course could not walk when he was born. Even his mother did not want him.

His first owner also did not think that he could survive and he was thinking of ‘putting him to sleep’.

But then, his present owner, Jude Stringfellow, met him and wanted to take care of him.

She became determined to teach and train this little dog to walk by himself.

She named him ‘Faith’.

In the beginning, she put Faith on a surfboard to let him feel the movement.

Later she used peanut butter on a spoon as a lure and reward for him for standing up and jumping around.

Even the other dog at home encouraged him to walk.

Amazingly, only after 6 months, like a miracle, Faith learned to balance on his hind legs and to jump to move forward.

After further training in the snow, he could now walk like a human being.

Faith loves to walk around now.

No matter where he goes, he attracts people to him.

He is fast becoming famous on the international scene and has appeared on various newspapers and TV shows.

There is now a book entitled ‘With a Little Faith’ being published about him.

He was  even considered to appear in one of Harry Potter movies.

His present owner Jude Stringfellew has given up her teaching  post and plans to take him around the world to preach that  even without a perfect body, one can have a perfect  soul’.

In life there are always undesirable things, so in order to feel better you just need to look at life from another direction.

I hope this message will bring fresh new ways of thinking to everyone and that everyone will appreciate and be thankful for each beautiful day.

Faith is the continual demonstration of the strength and wonder of life.

pharmacological treatment-The Burzynski Clinic

The Burzynski Clinic is a clinic in Texas, United States founded in 1976 and offering controversial cancer treatment. While the clinic does offer conventional chemotherapy and (via an associate center) radiotherapy, it is best known for its “antineoplaston therapy”, a controversial pharmacological treatment using compounds called antineoplastons, devised by the clinic’s founder Stanislaw Burzynski in the 1970s.  The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved antineoplastons for the treatment of any disease. http://www.burzynskiclinic.com/

Dog – “a mother’s ove”

During an early morning response to a house fire, firefighters were amazed.
A mother dog risked her life to save her puppies from the fire surrounding the burning house…
The mother dog, Amanda, raced back and forth between the house, putting her 10 day old puppies in the safest place she could find – a fire truck!
She didn’t stop racing back into the fire until all of her puppies were safely away from the fire.
The firemen on scene could not believe their eyes. Most people have never seen a dog this smart or this brave!
After rescuing all of her pups from the blaze, Amanda sat down next to them, protecting them with her body.
Onlookers called an emergency veterinary service and she and her pups were rushed to the hospital.
Aside from one puppy being treated for serious burns, the entire family are alive and well – thanks to the bravery of Amanda!
What a heroic mother! 🙂

WHY OUR HEALTH CARE COSTS ARE SO HIGH!!!

Bubba had shingles.

Those of us who spend much time in a doctor’s office should appreciate this! Doesn’t it seem more and more that physicians are running their practices like an assembly line?
Here’s what happened to Bubba:

Bubba walked into a doctor’s office and the receptionist asked him what he had. Bubba said: ‘Shingles.’ So she wrote down his name, address, medical insurance number and told him to have a seat.

Fifteen minutes later a nurse’s aide came out and asked Bubba what he had…
Bubba said, ‘Shingles.’ So she wrote down his height, weight, a complete medical history and told Bubba to wait in the examining room.

A half hour later a nurse came in and asked Bubba what he had. Bubba said, ‘Shingles..’ So the nurse gave Bubba a blood test, a blood pressure test, an electrocardiogram, and told Bubba to take off all his clothes and wait for the doctor.

An hour later the doctor came in and found Bubba sitting patiently in the nude and asked Bubba what he had.

Bubba said, ‘Shingles.’ The doctor asked, ‘Where?’
Bubba said, ‘Outside on the truck. Where do you want me to unload ’em??’

HOPE THIS MAKES YOU LAUGH OUT LOUD LIKE I DID…. That’s why I had to share this with you ..THESE DAYS WE NEED ALL THE LAUGHS WE CAN GET

story-things happen for a reason

Beautiful story…. makes you understand that things happen for a reason
The brand new pastor and his wife, newly assigned
to their first ministry, to reopen a church
in suburban Brooklyn , arrived in early October
excited about their opportunities. When they saw
their church, it was very run down and needed
much work. They set a goal to have everything
done in time to have their first service
on Christmas Eve.
They worked hard, repairing pews, plastering walls,
painting, etc, and on December 18
were ahead of schedule and just about finished.

On December 19 a terrible tempest – a driving
rainstorm – hit the area and lasted for two days.

On the 21st, the pastor went over to the church.
His heart sank when he saw that the roof had
leaked, causing a large area of plaster about
20 feet by 8 feet to fall off the front wall
of the sanctuary just behind the pulpit,
beginning about head high.

The pastor cleaned up the mess on the floor, and not knowing what else to do but postpone the Christmas Eve service, headed home. On the way he noticed that a local business was having a flea market type sale for charity, so he stopped in. One of the items was a beautiful, handmade, ivory colored, crocheted tablecloth with exquisite work, fine colors and a Cross embroidered right in the center. It was just the right size to cover the hole in the front wall. He bought it and headed back to the church.

By this time it had started to snow. An older
woman running from the opposite direction was
trying to catch the bus. She missed it. The pastor
invited her to wait in the warm church for
the next bus 45 minutes later.

She sat in a pew and paid no attention to the pastor
while he got a ladder, hangers, etc., to put
up the tablecloth as a wall tapestry. The pastor
could hardly believe how beautiful it looked and
it covered up the entire problem area.
Then he noticed the woman walking down the center
aisle. Her face was like a sheet. “Pastor,”
she asked, “where did you get that tablecloth?”
The pastor explained. The woman asked him to check
the lower right corner to see if the initials ‘EBG were crocheted into it there. They were. These were the initials of the woman, and she had
made this tablecloth 35 years before, in Austria .
The woman could hardly believe it as the pastor
told how he had just gotten “The Tablecloth”. The
woman explained that before the war she and
her husband were well-to-do people in Austria .

When the Nazis came, she was forced to leave.
Her husband was going to follow her the next week.
He was captured, sent to prison and she never saw her
husband or her home again.

The pastor wanted to give her the tablecloth;
but she made the pastor keep it for the church.
The pastor insisted on driving her home. That
was the least he could do. She lived on the other
side of Staten Island and was only in Brooklyn
for the day for a housecleaning job.
What a wonderful service they had on Christmas
Eve. The church was almost full. The music and the
spirit were great. At the end of the service, the
pastor and his wife greeted everyone at the door
and many said that they would return.

One older man, whom the pastor recognized from the neighborhood, continued to sit in one of the pews and stare, and the pastor wondered why he wasn’t leaving.

The man asked him where he got the tablecloth on
the front wall because it was identical to one
that his wife had made years ago when
they lived in Austria before the war and how
could there be two tablecloths so much alike?
He told the pastor how the Nazis came, how he
forced his wife to flee for her safety and he was
supposed to follow her, but he was arrested and
put in a prison. He never saw his wife or his home
again in all the 35 years between.
The pastor asked him if he would allow him to
take him for a little ride. They drove to Staten
Island and to the same house where the pastor
had taken the woman three days earlier.
He helped the man climb the three flights of
stairs to the woman’s apartment, knocked on
the door and he saw the greatest Christmas
reunion he could ever imagine.

Car – cheap transportation …

TINY CAR….very interesting
This is not a joke and they do sell for $600.00. They won’t be able to make them fast enough–be good just to run around town. Here’s  a car that will get you back and forth to work on the  cheap…….
$600  for the car. 258 miles per gallon… Only a one seater however Talk about  cheap transportation …….
Volkswagen’s  $600 car gets 258 mpg — It looks like Ford, Chrysler.   China  launches $600 car that will get 258mpg  This  $600 car is no toy and is ready to be released in China next  year.
The  single seater aero car totes VW (Volkswagen)  branding.
Volkswagen  did a lot of very highly protected testing of this car in
Germany,  but it was not announced until now where the car would make it’s first  appearance.
The  car was introduced at the VW stockholders meeting as the most economical car in the world as presented.
The initial objective of  the prototype was to prove that 1 liter of fuel could deliver 100 kilos of  travel.                       Spartan  interior doesn’t sacrifice safetyThe  aero design proved essential to getting the desired result. The body is 3.47  meters long and just 1.25 meters wide, and a little over a meter high. The  prototype was made completely of carbon fiber and is not painted to save  weight.
The  power plant is a one cylinder diesel positioned ahead of the rear
axle  and combined with an automatic shift controlled by a knob in the interior.  Safety was not compromised as the impact and roll-over
protection  is comparable to the GT racing cars.

The  Most Economic Car in the World will be on sale next  year:
Better  than Electric Car – 258 miles/gallon: IPO 20110 in
Shanghai  This is a single seated car
From  conception to production: 3 years and the company is
headquartered  in Hamburg , Germany
Will  be selling for 4000 Yuan, equivalent to US$ 600..
Gas  tank capacity = 1.7 gallons
Speed  = 62 – 74.6 Miles/hour
Fuel  efficiency = 258 miles/gallon
Travel  distance with a full tank = 404 miles

Wait for it coming to a VW dealer near you, not in this country!
I’m sure the big Three will have a helluva lot to say about it coming to NAmerica
Wouldn’t a car like this be a grand slam, just think about it, you could park it and drive it on a sidewalk….
What a concept.

Gas Stations of the 20’s.

Remember when….

The place is a Texaco Gasoline Filling Station (primarily they filled gas tanks). But what is that contraption with the ramps?  The mechanism appears to be driven by the cars wheels.  Hydraulic lines go to that can with a raised top.  What could it be?  A pump for lubeing a car’s underparts? The little sign does say “Havolinc” which was Texaco’s brand name for it’s oil products.  An early engine dynamometer? Maybe it’s a primitive car wash. I dunno, any guesses?
I guess there was no signage limitations back then.  I count eleven Texaco signs on that station.
Land wasn’t at a premium then like it is now. Note the wide open layout and the nice row of little trees. This was a Texaco Gasoline Motor Oil Service Station.  The concept had become a “service station”, which included more than just filling your tank. They even filled it FOR you, no “self-service” needed.
Looks like an early “mall”.  At one location, you could fill up your tank, get a loan so as to look prosperous with a new suit, and have a meal while your spark plugs were changed.
Ford Sales and Service. Look at all those Model T’s.  You could have one in any color you wanted as long as it was black (Henry Ford).
Simplicity itself.  No name gas and motor oil for 20 cents a quart, wow.
Dome Gas.  You better try it ’cause “It’s Better”. It better be good since they want 23 cents a gallon for it! LOL. So what is that tank car doing on the trestle by itself? Did Hercules Petroleum Co. lose it? A midnight requisition for that better Dome Gas?
Lemans’ Tire Shop. Barney Oldfield tires only $9.99 each. Sounds kind of expensive to me. Note the water can by the side of the road and the barricades around the trees. I guess people just drove up on the sidewalk to get their tires and the trees were in the way.
Here we have Super Motor Fuel.  I hear Dome Gas is better but this stuff is SUPER.
Note the name of the station “Toot-An-Kum-In”.  King Tut was big news in the twenties so why not capitalize on it.  This is a really modern looking station with the full roof and multiple islands of pumps.  AMOCO Gas (still around today) but what does “filtered” mean. Obviously they consider other gas to be “dirty”.
Four Wheel Drive Autos sales and service.  The SUV’s of the 20’s. 4WD gas is only 20 cents a gallon!

The Veterinarian-laugh

One Sunday, in counting the

money in the weekly offering,

the pastor of a small church found a pink envelope containing $1,000. It happened again the next week!

The following Sunday, he watched as the offering was collected and saw an elderly woman put the distinctive pink envelope on the plate. This went on for weeks until the pastor, overcome by curiosity, approached her.

“Ma’am, I couldn’t help but notice that you put $1,000 a week in the collection plate,” he stated.

“Why, yes,” she replied, “every week my son sends me money, and I give some of it to the church.”

The pastor replied, “That’s wonderful. But $1,000 is a lot; are you sure you can afford this? How much does he send you?”

The elderly woman answered, “$10,000 a week.”

The pastor was amazed. “Your son is very successful; what does he do for a living?”

“He is a veterinarian,” she answered.

“That’s an honorable profession, but I had no idea they made that much money,” the pastor said.. “Where does he practice?”

The woman answered proudly, “In Nevada … He has two cat houses, one in Las Vegas and one in Reno ”

Wrong Funeral – Destiny at play..

THE OPENING PARAGRAPH MAKES THE PROPER STATEMENT TO SET THE MOOD , AND WE THINK GOD DOESN’T TALK TO US?

Consumed by my loss, I didn’t notice the hardness of the pew where I sat . I was at the funeral of my dearest friend – my mother . She finally had lost her long battle with cancer . The hurt was so intense; I found it hard to breathe at times . Always supportive, Mother clapped loudest at my school plays, held box of tissues while listening to my first heartbreak, comforted me at my father’s death, encouraged me in college, and prayed for me my entire life . When mother’s illness was diagnosed, my sister had a new baby and my brother had recently married his childhood sweetheart, so it fell on me, the 27-year-old middle female child without entanglements, to take care of her . I counted it an honor . ‘What now, Lord?’ I asked sitting in church . My life stretched out before me as an empty abyss . My brother sat stoically with his face toward the cross while clutching his wife’s hand . My sister sat slumped against her husband’s shoulder, his arms around her as she cradled their child . All so deeply grieving, no one noticed I sat alone . My place had been with our mother, preparing her meals, helping her walk, taking her to the doctor, seeing to her medication, reading the Bible together . Now she was with the Lord . My work was finished, and I was alone . I heard a door open and slam shut at the back of the church . Quick footsteps hurried along the carpeted floor .

An exasperated young man looked around briefly and then sat next to me . He folded his hands and placed them on his lap . His eyes were brimming with tears . He began to sniffle . ‘I’m late,’ he explained, though no explanation was necessary . After several eulogies, he leaned over and commented, ‘Why do they keep calling Mary by the name of Margaret?” ‘Because, that was her name, Margaret . Never Mary, no one called her ‘Mary,” I whispered . I wondered why this person couldn’t have sat on the other side of the church . He interrupted my grieving with his tears and fidgeting . Who was this stranger anyway?

‘No, that isn’t correct,’ he insisted, as several people glanced over at us whispering, her name is Mary, Mary Peters . ‘ ‘That isn’t who this is . ‘ ‘Isn’t this the Lutheran church?’ ‘No, the Lutheran church is across the street . ‘ ‘Oh . ‘ ‘I believe you’re at the wrong funeral, Sir . ‘ The solemnness of the occasion mixed with the realization of the man’s mistake bubbled up inside me and came out as laughter . I cupped my hands over my face, hoping it would be interpreted as sobs . The creaking pew gave me away . Sharp looks from other mourners only made the situation seem more hilarious . I peeked at the bewildered, misguided man seated beside me . He was laughing too, as he glanced around, deciding it was too late for an uneventful exit . I imagined Mother laughing . At the final ‘Amen,’ we darted out a door and into the parking lot . ‘I do believe we’ll be the talk of the town, he smiled . He said his name was Rick and since he had missed his aunt’s funeral, asked me out for a cup of coffee .

That afternoon began a lifelong journey for me with this man who attended the wrong funeral, but was in the right place . A year after our meeting, we were married at a country church where he was the assistant pastor . This time we both arrived at the same church, right on time .

In my time of sorrow, God gave me laughter . In place of loneliness, God gave me love . This past June, we celebrated our twenty-second wedding anniversary . Whenever anyone asks us how we met, Rick tells them, ‘Her mother and my Aunt Mary introduced us, and it’s truly a match made in heaven . ‘

REMEMBER, God doesn’t make mistakes . He puts us where we are supposed to be .

decorated trailers

THE GERMAN ARTISTS ARE AT IT AGAINHere  are 7 pictures of European trucks whose trailers are decorated to look like the sides are missing and the products they are hauling  are painted on the sides and back. The first one is  of a  bottle of beer and looks so real, like it is coming out the side of the trailer..

The second is of canvas tote bag.
The third is of Pepsi cases and they are all stacked on the ceiling, and the bottom of the trailer is empty.
The fourth is of another truck with the windshield facing the back and there has been a driver painted in the driver’s seat looking back  over his shoulder to appear like he is driving backwards. (Now this one is just plain scary, even when the German reads  ‘On the  wrong way?’)
The  fifth one is of an aquarium with fish swimming in it.
The sixth one is of a bookshelf with books lined up in it and a post-it-note with an advertisement on it, probably for the company that sells the books.
The last one is for Pringles-Hot & Spicy. The ‘inside’ of the trailer has the appearance of having been through a fire.

If my Body was a Car

*** everyone needs a good laugh!!!

If My Body Was a Car!
This is just too funny – scary how true it is!!!
If my body was a car, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. I’ve got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish and my paint job is getting a little dull…
But that’s not the worst of it.

My headlights are out of focus and it’s especially hard to see things up close

My traction is not as graceful as it once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump into things even in the best of weather.

My whitewalls are stained with varicose veins.

It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed. My fuel rate burns inefficiently.

But here’s the worst of it,

Almost every time I sneeze, cough or sputter,
either my radiator leaks or My Exhaust Backfires!

50th Class reunion

He was a widower and she a widow.
They had known each other for a number of years being high school classmates and having attended class
reunions in the last 20 years without fail.
This 50th anniversary of their class, the widower and the widow made a foursome with two other singles.

They had a wonderful evening, their spirits high.
The widower throwing admiring glances across the table. The widow smiling coyly back at him.

Finally, he picked up courage to ask her, “Will you marry me?”

After about six seconds of careful consideration, she answered, “Yes,….. yes I will!”

The evening ended on a happy note for the widower. But the next morning he was troubled.

Did she say “Yes” or did she say “No?”;
He couldn’t remember. Try as he would, he just could not recall. He went over the conversation of the previous
evening, but his mind was blank.

He remembered asking the question but for the life of him could not recall her response. With fear and trepidation
he picked up the phone and called her.

First, he explained that he couldn’t remember as well as he used to. Then he reviewed the past evening.
As he gained a little more courage he then inquired of her. “When I asked if you would marry me,
did you say “Yes” or did you say “No?”;

“Why you silly man I said, ‘Yes. Yes I will.’ And I meant it with all my heart.”
The widower was delighted. He felt his heart skip a beat.

Then she continued. “And I am so glad you called because I couldn’t remember who asked me!”;
